My Monkey Ate The Panic Monster
Thrifty Word Challenge 100: #30 and 50: #51 Procrastination
My panic monster used to be the size of Godzilla. When I saw that water shaking in its glass, I knew that it was too late. Its roar was deafening, and my monkey and I would both shit bananas. And my monkey would bounce, leaving me to be eaten. I used to sweat bullets just to appease the beast, but somewhere down the line, maybe due to age, my panic monster shrank. My monkey mimicked Rampage, eating it alive. Only every now and then does the monkey get an acid reflux attack, which spoils all the fun.
I am a horrible procrastinator. I could live off Twitter. I love my Apple TV, binge-watching Supernatural on Netflix. Oh, wait. Didn’t I enter a writing contest? When was the deadline? Shit, I missed it. Bad monkey, but I’ll remember next time. Is it next time? I don’t remember because the monkey still has the damn remote. Oh, there’s DC Cartoons on HBO MAX. Well, I could write that story tomorrow and leave the articles for the weekend. Okay, monkey. That’s it. Go to the corner while I write, and then I’ll let you out of the cage. Of course, the monkey going apeshit doesn’t help. Fine. Let’s see what’s on the Apple TV, and then I’ll do some writing.
How bad is your monkey?
Thank you, Tim Urban for the laughter and inspiration for me to write this.
