My Meeting With Yesterday
A Poem

I just had this meeting with Yesterday all things considered; I think it went well. She was feeling rather gloomy, though like all her efforts for clarification had gone to hell
She said, she was tired of all the clean up the indifference and lack of respect How everyone was always fucking focused On Tomorrow, and all she got was their neglect
I tried to reassure her, that the past just had this Rep Of being in everyone’s rear-view mirror with everyone focused on their next step But the words didn’t seem to reassure her, she kept looking around for Today “I thought you said he was coming, I don’t think now, that I should stay.”
I said, you know he’s rather flighty never content with what he sees Always rushing past the moments doing just what he damn well please
I really should know better, as she settled back into her chair, He really should do better or fuck it — I’m out of here.
No one wants to do this job not the tears, the fears or pain No one wants all this insight with no chance for change — it’s all in vain.
So, when you see Tomorrow Who’s (blush) probably doing it with Today, Just tell them to get over themselves, And remember it wasn’t always this way.
There was a time, when I was Queen And everyone gave me their due Because I could predict the damn future And I always knew just what to do
But history is getting neglectful and people easily lose their way They forget that the Past’s always working and will always be here to stay.
