My March Earnings 2022
What did you earn?
Each month, I write about my earnings; why? Because I want to help inspire writers who are just starting out on the Medium platform. I would suggest my earnings are moderate; however, as this is a side hustle, I am pleased with it.
When I joined Medium, I used to set myself a monthly target, which worked very well; now, I have become a bit more established; I have set myself a yearly goal.
Some of you may remember that it was $5,000 for 2022; I will link that story below and show how far I have come over the past few months.
I will always say the real reward is writing and reading other people's articles; some are very moving, some are entertaining, and some are sad at times.
Don't get too disheartened if your earnings are low; I earned $0.00 during my first month on Medium and $44.00 in the second month. I will also remind you that 90% of writers make less than $100 a month.
For some people, targets do not work, and there is no reason to set yourself up for a fall; during December 2021, my target was to read ten articles a day as a minimum. However, I know that reading is essential to developing my writing skills.
Some writers are coy and don't want to share their earnings which I completely understand; for I am nosy, I want to know; these articles inspire me.

So now on my earnings this month, which will look small compared to Marilyn's earnings above. Have I hit my $416.66? Well, no, I fell short this month, as you can see from the picture below.
$405.40 is what I earned in March 2022, giving me a total so far of $1,179.83, so not too shabby, but am I on course during my first three months? That figure averages out as £393.27, so still short of the $416.66 required.
February affected my earnings, and now there is some ground to make up. People may ask, am I down about this? "HELL NO" I am pleased and up for the challenge I have set myself this year.
2022 will be a great year; I have two publications, "What is love to you?" and of course “New Writers Welcome.” We are about to launch a competition for “What is love to you?” so keep your eyes peeled for that, there will be prize money at stake.
