My LinkedIn Post Went Viral

And what I learned with this event.

With all the lessons learned, different theories on how to go viral, I would have thought of many different ways on how I can write and publish this post.

In less than 24 hours it crossed 25K+ views.

Usually, the posts that go viral are mostly success stories like getting into a dream college or big famous companies, or seeking help to get a job backed up by a crying story, or some emotional and sad story. My post didn’t fit in this criteria.

This month, I completed a year as a content creator so thought of sharing. There was no lesson learned, just a couple of points on what I experienced in the last one year.

At the time of writing this article my post is 32K+ views and keeps growing.

I am still replying to everyone’s query on how they can become a content creator. But in last one day, I learned something new.

It can lead you to new opportunities:

I think consistency is the key to becoming viral. I have been posting almost one post every week on LinkedIn for the last 6 months and started my weekly newsletter as well.

But with these posts, I have got lots of new ideas on how I can help other people become content creators and start writing online. I am not pro, but learning is fun, right?

So if you still didn't manage to receive a certain number of views, don’t feel disappointed, keep on writing and posting. Always remember to get success in anything in life, you need to be consistent.

In life, consistency leads to more chances where you can strike in the right place at the right time.

Virality doesn’t mean anything, You’re not that important

The Internet is a funny thing, one day you get thousands of views and other days many a few hundred. So never tie your own success with virality.

You can go viral one day but for other days we still need to show up and work.

Celebrate the happiness, dance a little, or even show off on your social media that you’re a star. But don’t let it affect your head or your work, it’s your work that led you here, so get back to it.

Don’t let it mess with your mental health

Stop thinking that all posts are going to go viral or you’re getting mentally exhausted because you need to produce the same level of content every day. No you don’t. Write and produce content as usual.

Stop overthinking that your future content is not going to be good as it is.

Luckily I stopped my LinkedIn notifications so that I can get on with my day with the activities I need to do without getting much distractions.

So if this happens to you, stop the notification and check it out couple of times in day. Else it can be you can get overwhelmed with messages, requests, likes, and comments.

Lastly

I’m really grateful for what happened. My only suggestion is to be authentic and post regularly.

Share your story, lesson learned, and the things you find motivational for yourself.
