My Introduction to ILLUMINATION Writers
My name is Brian Lamacraft, and I’m a new writer for the ILLUMINATION publication. I’m, excited to be writing here as I see great potential in what Dr. Mehmet Yildiz has created. So, here is a little about me.
My Life
I grew up in the ancient times of the 1970s and 1980s when the earth was but an infant. This year, I will reach the horror age of 50. I’m an ancient relic. I spent my youth in Delta and Vancouver, British Columbia. B.C. is a beautiful place surrounded by mountains we call the Lions, which are a part of the Coast Mountain Range. It’s a wonderful place to live and very peaceful. Now, I live up the coast in a small town called Powell River.
We have one of the longest-running old theatres in existence, called the Patrica Theater, which was founded in 1913. This is a milling town, and from my Condo, my wife and I can see Vancouver Island in the distance. It’s nice to be able to go to the beach when you want and take a walk around the shore. The sound of the waves is calming, which is needed in this world of insanity that we live in.
My Writing
Writing is what I love. I wouldn’t want any other job. My wife thinks it would be boring, but not for me. It’s something I enjoy doing every day. It is so much a part of who I am. Perhaps someday I will make a decent living at it. I write on Medium because I enjoy sharing stories. I love reading the work of other writers who share their experiences and knowledge on this great site. I’m happy to meet all of you.
What I Write About
I tend to cover a wide range of topics with my writing. I would like to see us all come together on this planet. I write what is on my mind and express my opinions. We need more people to express their opinion on subjects. If we don’t sit down and discuss the issues of today, the younger generations will have a darker tomorrow.
I value other people’s opinions, even if I don’t agree with them. It’s communication, dialogue, and having an open mind that will change this world. You need tough skin as a writer. I feel that ILLUMINATION will give me the chance to express my opinions. I look forward to reading the work of other writers.
My Life
My life is pretty average. In my spare time, I love playing my guitar. Music helps keep me sane in this world. I enter another world when I play music. I wouldn’t feel the same without music. Music can heal you in so many ways. I can’t imagine a world without the joys of music.
I spend a lot of time at my local Royal Canadian Legion, where I meet with friends. I honor the sacrifices of those that have given their lives for my freedom. I detest war and the horrors that it brings. I hope that someday we can finally live in peace. I encourage you to support your local Legion if you have one, the veterans need your help. Other hobbies include computer gaming and camping with my friends. Most of my time is spent writing and playing music, my two main passions. I also try and convince my wife to sell her lovely photographs, but she never takes me up on the offer!
My Publication
I recently started my own publication called I Don’t Have A Lawn But Get Off Of It. The purpose of the publication is to allow writers to express their opinions. We need to talk about the issues of our day. Feel free to join as a writer. It’s just me for now.
