My First Impression Of Paris

Surprise and surprise

I went to Paris with some friends while studying in Germany. We had a great week there.

We visited as many historic places as we could, such as Versailles, the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, and more. Of course, we have not spared art centers like the Louvre and the Pompidou.

All of the above attractions left a lasting impression on me. But what I can’t forget is the atmosphere of Paris, a very distinctive city.

1. Heavy traffic, scarred vehicles

Before we went to Paris, some German friends warned us that driving in the center of Paris, you have to find your way, and every car has a bump.

I thought they were joking.

However, as we drove into central Paris, the streets were heavily congested and the dense convoy moved like a snail.

Interestingly, these vehicles were constantly changing lanes and digging for gaps. Wherever there is a space, people drive there, which I had rarely seen in Germany.

This reminded me of the famous quote of Xun Lu, a famous modern Chinese writer.

The path is shown up only when thousands of people walk through.

Driving in Paris, you have to be flexible, otherwise, you simply cannot move.

At the same time, we also observed the passing vehicles and found almost every vehicle had signs of trauma.

It turns out that what my friends said is true! We all burst out laughing,

In comparison, my Fiesta is a bit old but not traumatic. It was clean and shiny, simply standing out from the crowd! 😀

2. Shocking hotel and surprising hotel

We booked the hotel in advance. The hotel is located in an urban area, with convenient transportation and low price. Unexpectedly, we went in and took a look, and couldn’t wait to get out.

The hotel was under renovation and there were construction sites everywhere. The room was very small.

What struck me most was the high ceiling of the room, like an ancient palace, old, musty with decay, and the narrow bed with crimson (an unusual color) sheets that took up half the room, with tall windows reminiscent of a prison.

At the front desk was a handsome young man in a suit and leather shoes, with a bow tie and shiny hair. He was a little upset that we were going to cancel the reservation, but agreed.

Soon we found another hotel through a travel agency and it was nice, clean, very comfortable, and not expensive!

Yeah! 😍

Once settled in the new hotel, we set off in high spirits and couldn’t wait to see Paris. As soon as we went out, a huge mill appeared before our eyes. Haha, we actually lived near the famous Moulin Rouge.

When we passed a small shop, the doorman greeted us in Chinese and asked if we wanted to buy tickets to watch the show.😀

3. Baguette and small tables in the Café

In Germany, the man who goes to buy freshly baked bread (Brötchen in German) on a Sunday morning is traditionally a good husband.

In the evenings in Paris, we often encountered passers-by in a hurry. They seemed to be on their way home with a baguette under their arm. This baguette was probably the next day’s breakfast?

Cafés can be seen everywhere on the streets of Paris, and many customers sit outside on a sunny afternoon.

All the tables are so small that when two people sit down with their elbows on the table, their faces almost touch each other.

This kind of coffee shop is really a lovely place for couples to go on a date! Maybe this is Parisian romance?

Paris is known as the art capital, fashion capital, cultural capital, romantic capital, and flower capital.

The beauty of Paris is obvious to all, and the free and romantic nature of Parisians is truly enviable.

However, everyone sees Paris differently. I think it’s a pleasure to discover for yourself what makes Paris so unique to you.

There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people’s eyes.
