My Favorite Thing About Every Day
Because the day goes by in a blink
24 hours in a day,
spent juggling, hustling, and sleeping.
Seconds turn into minutes,
and minutes into hours.
The day goes by in a blink mostly.
Someone randomly asked,
“What’s your favorite thing about every day?”
It led me to think
When am I most relaxed?
The answer was instant,
It’s the hour that ends daylight
and the darkness ascends.
The hour when I’m almost always compelled
To look away from my work
And gaze out the window.
The hour when I can’t help but
Pause, breath, reflect, and relax.
Dusk, twilight, sundown,
It has many names.
For me, it’s the time
Nature becomes an artist in all its glory.
For me, it’s the time
To be inspired, motivated and, wonder about what’s next
For me, it’s the time
To remind myself, “That’s the creativity I need to aim for; being unique and true every time.”
They say that,
No two sunsets are ever the same.
Wouldn’t it be foolish?
To miss even one of them then?
It’s my turn to ask now,
“What’s your favorite thing about every day?”
