Slurt and Other Embarrassing Facts
A Know, Like, and Trust-You Story

Back in early June, it feels like years ago, Tim Maudlin proposed a way to build rapport with readers by using his template.
He suggested that we use our stories to reveal information about ourselves, instead of simply writing a bio. I thought it was a great idea and then proceeded to put it on the back burner.
I guess that reveals my tendency to procrastinate.
I finally got around to it.
People have always loved stories.
Cave drawings and sign language were early attempts to communicate, to tell each other stories about where to find food, and how to stay away from predators.
The act of story telling breathes life into an experience and makes a connection with the reader.
Here are my Know, Like, and Trust-You stories.
Something personal
In my early thirties, I found myself a single mom of two small boys. One thing I missed was the quiet moments in the evening, marveling at the events of the day. Then I met the love of my life and this is how it happened.
Something life changing.
Many centuries ago in a Past Life, I traded my free will for the life of a loved one and carried that binding through many lives. With the help of a friend, I discovered it in this life and released myself.
Something scary. Fear in the emergency room.
The last thing I expected was to have ‘the conversation’ in the emergency room.
Something fun. I love to play with words.
Words like Packlapse and Slurt are several words that were made up by ‘The Crew’.
Something of service. I’m sure I was a teacher in another life.
My technique involves merciless editing interspersed with periods of neglect. Often my poems begin with a rant.
I really enjoyed exploring my life using my stories.
