my childhood bedroom

a poem

Photo by Marcus Loke on Unsplash / k this bedroom is MUCH cooler than mine ever was… child or adult :’)

long and slim, like a hallway, I spent days on the floor laying out puzzles, collecting raffle tickets by colour.

I swung from the bunk bed even though there was only the one of us, unless there were three — me, myself, and I.

on top of the bookshelf sat a choir of stuffed animals neatly arranged as if ready to perform on stage.

and at the end there was my desk red lined with white surfaces that I scratched up and ruined with moments of creativity.

my curtains — moon and sun-themed. my sliding closet doors — Donald Duck themed.
