POEM: OVERWHELMED

My Brain Is About to Explode

What can you do when you can’t catch up with the racing stress in enough time to slow it down?

swirling thoughts spinning erratically absent moments in melting patterns pulse speeds by unclocked

fragmented idea waves glitching wildly abundant nudges turn demanding deficiencies slates wiped instinctively empty

looming options dangling unlocked doors reaching high, grabbing at limbs branching tree sprouted freedom

drowning voices dimming darkly softer tunes playing for higher branches choices given, instructing a climb

interrupting paths, unfollow the line invited friend layering levels safely outcomes chosen through paced breath

Sometimes our minds take over our bodies running through mental forests without finding the path out or higher above the maze. Every choice can provide a different direction or end a situation or stress. Reach high with your eyes, your mind, or towards a friend to be there as you choose.
