My Best Way Of Dealing With Intrusive Thoughts
Negative thoughts can take people to dark places such as alcohol and drugs. Here’s my quickest and most effective way to get rid of intrusive thoughts:

Intrusive thoughts were my biggest issues growing up, and they still haunt me once in a while.
But now I know how to deal with them. It took me years of self-awareness, therapy, and study to get to deeply know and heal myself, finally, so I can be more centered and balanced.
The trick I’m about to share with you is my best go-to tip to deal with an overwhelmed mind, negative thoughts, and anxiety.
Healing Waters
The trick is simply getting underwater, especially if it’s a bit colder than you are used to. But it goes deeper than that (pun intended!).
If you have a pool, dive. If you have a beach, run to the sea and dive. If you have a shower, place your head under the shower and feel the water running through your body.
But, please, DON’T GET HYPOTHERMIA.
Go slowly, feel the water with your hands and feet first, then let the water get to your hips, then to your shoulders, and only then you dive, okay? The same goes for the shower: don’t place your head first under the cold water — it may cause you many dangerous health issues.
The idea is to lovingly force yourself to be present by holding your breath underwater. It’s simple: if you don't hold it, you'll swallow a lot of unwanted water and burn your nose/throat — and we don't want that, right? — So hold your breath and feel the water running through your body.
Mastering the Life Game
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I talk a lot about mindfulness. And I’ll keep talking about it until all 8 billion people know about it since it’s THE way to master the life game (hahaha!)
Sadly, many (if not most) people struggle to be in the present moment. They are always rushing, with millions of thoughts and worries on their minds.
So when those people get negative, intrusive thoughts, it can be dangerous, since they can get their ‘escape’ from those thoughts in drugs, alcohol, and other bad things.
That's where the diving technique takes place. It’s simple, but it is one powerful mindfulness technique.
I’ve been doing it for years and it really works. Since the pool is not good for my skin and the beaches where I live are not that great, I do this mindfulness practice in the shower. It gets me back to my center, I feel calmer, and it gets easier to organize my thoughts and take my power back from them.
In my experience, it works best with cold water. But you can do as I do: start your shower with your regular hot/warm temperature, then slowly reduce it until it gets cold. — It doesn't need to get icy cold, just enough cold to be a little bit uncomfortable, but still tolerable without suffering.
Then you dive and stay underwater for a few seconds with your eyes closed. Repeat as many times as you want.
When you open your eyes, you’ll immediately notice the mental relief.
Give it a try and let me know!
