Building a Mountain out of 2 Cents.
I wish this to be an unclichéd story (Why does Medium call this story? I always think to call it an Article so that I can use ‘an’ article to it but, Story sounds a bit personal I guess) but to be honest with you, this is yet another motivational story you are going to read. (prolly, you will view this and go away without making it till the end, but thanks anyway for attempting a try, really appreciate it!) Nonetheless, I’ll try my best to inspire you with the story of 2 Cents I have earned.
Who doesn’t want money? Well, I cannot be representative of all Homo Sapiens in this dear world, but Hola Aliens! (They might call themselves Humans and us Aliens, I guess not something I should be bothered about) If you are planning to drop a bag of Dollars somewhere here, let me know about it, I’ll DM you guys my address. A necessary quote about money below (that is how I pretend like I know a thing plus, I thought there should be some real inspirational value that you take away from this story) :

So, this is what happened: I wrote an article about how ‘I was skeptical about buying an iPad but, I was wrong’ in Medium on June 21, 2020, without any expectations and didn’t care to see stats nor visited Medium for the following 2 weeks (I cannot recollect why I did it at the first place, nevertheless great decision!). After 2 weeks, I came back only to notice that a publisher wanted to publish that story in his Publication. I had no clue about how Medium worked and so I started off to explore how this platform works.
Getting to know how Medium works (still on progress since Learning is a continuous process, isn’t it?) I started writing more stories and approached several Publishers to publish my stories and all those sorts of things. I planned to write consistently daily for at least a month and then have a look at how much I have earned if so, I had. But, I had lost my motivation to write within two days. 2 days back, by chance I noticed something; I saw 2 cents as earnings in one of my stories, and I was ecstatic.
I know 2 cents is not that much money. I cannot even buy a meal with it but, these 2 cents had a bigger purpose for it. It is going to help me make a fortune out of it. This one day of earning motivated me to write more and more which, I’m trying each passing day. It gave me the belief that if I can make 2 cents out of writing, I can make 2 Grands or even more out of writing. My initial fear of writing has been subdued. I have got the new-found motivation to read more which in return will help me write even more.
Look for small victories and build on that. Each small victory, even if it is just getting up five minutes earlier, gives you confidence. You realize that these little victories make you feel great, and you keep going. You realize that being paralyzed by fear of failure is worse than failure.

I am also glad to have read some amazing stories from some authors and being part of amazing publications, which have opened new lines of thought within me.
Goals in Mind and Progress in Hand
With this initial thrust by 2 cents, I have already drafted several ideas, stories which are at different stages of progress and they have come up much better than my initial expectations. My goal is to write consistently for one year under varied topics and my current earning stands at $0.12 (See, I’m building a fortune for myself!). Every time I look at the several cents that I have earned, the motivation that I gain is unparallel, and I’m not going to give up anytime soon.
