Mug

A Poem

Photo by Mario Ibrahimi on Unsplash

Sometimes the happiest decision I make in a day

is when I choose which mug to use

for my morning coffee — it’s a simple win-win,

a calming and rewarding tiny, nourishing delight —

each mug makes me happy in its own way, and

coffee makes me happy in it’s own way, so —

large or small, cracked or new, scarf wearing llama or Mickey Mouse,

I relish this tiny decision this small success to have and to hold

each morning before I leave the house.
