Summary

The undefined website presents a digital gathering place, MuddyUm Homestead, which encourages community interaction through a poetry challenge, sharing of art, essays, and humorous content, and includes an experiment with embedding profile links.

Abstract

MuddyUm Homestead on the undefined website is envisioned as an "An Electronic Yule Log," serving as a virtual hearth for a community to come together. It invites participants to engage in creative activities such as writing poems, particularly challenging them to incorporate the names of their favorite poets. The platform also welcomes the sharing of hand-drawn art, essays, and humorous pieces, aiming to foster an environment of joy and creativity. This initiative is not just about consumption but about active participation, with members encouraged to vote on the best contributions and even write epitaphs for new posts. The site experimentally embeds profile links, possibly to enhance user engagement and interaction.

Opinions

  • The website values community interaction and creativity, emphasizing collective enjoyment over individual accolades like post claps.
  • It promotes a culture of sharing and appreciation for diverse content, from poetry and art to essays and GIFs.
  • The inclusion of a poetry challenge with the embedding of poets' names suggests a reverence for literary tradition while encouraging modern, digital engagement.
  • The site seems to prioritize fun and lightheartedness, as indicated by the mention of watching GIFs dance and the casual tone of the text.
  • There is an experimental aspect to the website's approach, as seen in the embedding of profile links, which could be a test to enhance user experience and content discoverability.

An Electronic Yule Log

It’s just a place where we can play Huddle up at end of day

Gather ‘round the warm computer Pretend we’re a Prince or Queen, or Tudor.

Have some laughs, write some poems ‘stead of watching, what? Jessica Jones?

Add some art, hand drawn, I guess, Share some essays, vote who’s best

at bringing out the belly laughs While someone writes an epitaph

For the newest post that’s newly published On how to write, or love, or republish!

And then Michelle will don those pants We’ll watch her GIFs all do their dance.

As we settle in with our evening night caps Smiling faces, and no thought of post claps.

This was an experiment at embedding profile links. And a poetry challenge! Just like this one:

Write a poem, embed two of your favorite poets’ names in your poem!

Just for the fun of it.
