Someday Soon I’ll Be Like Stephen King

A poem

Photo by Eugenio Mazzone on Unsplash

Some day I’ll be like Stephen King Won’t be disturbed by iPhone pings

Just sit in my room and tap tap tap The words all tumbling out just like that.

I’ll write words a plenty, there’ll be no stopping Those keyboard keys will be popping.

Christina Ward 🌼 will be amazed And Jenny Justice, well, just so dazed

To see what happens next, curation? No, Medium will no longer be the fixation.

I’ll be someplace in a hut in the woods Where silence abounds, I’ll have the goods.

I’ll pound out those books. Won’t care about looks.

I’ll eat, sleep and dream words. Yeah. I’ll be one of those nerds.
