Summary

The website content is a reflective prose-poem that emphasizes the intrinsic value of self-acceptance and contentment amidst societal pressures and personal ambitions.

Abstract

The prose-poem titled "Mountain Of Enough" serves as a meditative piece encouraging readers to embrace the concept of being enough as they are, despite external pressures to achieve more. It advises holding onto inner peace when faced with the compulsion to accumulate more titles, possessions, or success. The poem suggests that true contentment lies in recognizing the magnificence of the present moment and maintaining humility, rather than being swayed by the allure of worldly achievements or the whispers of others. It calls for the rejection of the "inner liar" that feeds dissatisfaction and reminds readers of their inherent completeness, urging them to stand firmly on their "mountain of enoughness." The piece is inspired by another poem, "Its Enough," and is written by Egypt, The Conscious Wordsmith, who explores themes of creativity, writing, and conscious living.

Opinions

  • The author believes that societal expectations and the pursuit of credentials can lead to a loss of humility and a disconnection from one's true nature.
  • There is a sentiment that the relentless pursuit of dreams and excellence can cause individuals to undervalue the present and the beauty of simplicity.
  • The poem conveys that worldly possessions and achievements, often glorified by society, are devoid of true substance and can distract from genuine happiness.
  • The author suggests that self-worth should not be tied to external validation or the opinions of others.
  • There is an emphasis on the importance of remembering one's inherent worth and resisting the societal narrative that one must constantly strive for more to be considered enough.
  • The poem encourages readers to silence the inner critic that drives them to chase unfulfilling ambitions and to embrace a life of minimalism and conscious living.

Mountain Of Enough

A reflective prose-poem to remind of that we are enough

When the voices tell us that we should be more, do more, and have more. Let’s grasp tightly to the inner stillness that remains undisturbed. For we are enough even though the world tells us this is not so.

When the titles and credentials are slapped unto our names, magnifying our egos, beyond recognition. Let’s remember to stay humble., and close to our nature. For we are enough even though our labels tells us this is not so.

When our yearnings, and dreams demand that we rise above the daily mundane, and diminish their value. To pursue excellence. Let us remember the magnificence of this day, this moment, and nothing else. For we are enough even though our imagination tells us this is not so.

When others whisper in our ear. For us to ever push harder, faster, and longer. To achieve worldly possessions. That glitter in their eyes, though without substance. Let us remember that we have enough. Even though other’s tell us this isn’t so.

For we were always enough. Ever complete luminous beings. That forgot for whence we came. We became mired by the illusions of this world. And relentlessly pursued more. Chasing past our happiness like fools.

Now is the time, to abandon the inner liar. Kiss him goodbye. Lay her to rest. Rise up, and stand on your mountain of enoughness

Post-script: This prose-poem was inspired by the wonderful poem by Spyder titled Its Enough
