Mother’s Day and the Month of May
Thursday Writing Prompt Theme

“To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power. Or the climbing, falling colors of a rainbow.” — Maya Angelou
Dearest Family
I am back again.
First of all thanking, all the members and readers who participated in the writing prompt of April Month. If you still wish to submit with us we have no deadline. We are happy to receive your entries anytime.
Here is the link to read all the stories for the previous month writing prompts.
Our theme for May is Mother.
We are giving you all the weekly topics in this post so that you get plenty of time to think it through while writing the prompts.
As I explained in my previous posts, we at Dreams and Stories have started Thursday Writing Prompt and the topic of the entire month of May are here:
Week 1:- Thank you Mum. (Write Anything You Feel Like)
As Mother’s Day is approaching this coming Sunday (9th May), we are inviting you to share with us your heartiest feelings about the most important person in your life. If I speak about myself, my mother has been my best friend since 2017 and this bond has helped me to grow stronger in thinking and decision making. I am sure you all have something to share about your mother because they are truly magical and lovable.
Week 2:- A letter to your mother from your Childhood version.
Can you go back the memory lane to reminisce some childhood memories? How was it growing up as a kid for you? Did your mother scold you ever? Was there a moment that you wanted to argue with your mother but you didn’t? It could be anything. We hold lots of feelings inside us and think one day we will share them with our mother but that day never comes. That’s why we are giving you this writing prompt so that you can bring it to light and make us smile.
Week 3:- The best lesson/lessons that your mother taught you which you can proudly share.
Are you willing to share the best lesson/lessons you learned from your mother? I am dead sure we all have got to share something on it and you can read my take on this link. Mothers nurture us, raise us and turn into our friends as we grow mature in life but we never forget the lessons they make us learn. The reason being deep within our hearts we know mothers are the best creature on the planet Earth and they were sent to us from the heaven above.
Week 4:- One event I wish I could change in my mother life for her good.
I come from a domestic violence environment and I wish I could change this thing in my mother’s life. But certainly, I have done my part. I have realized my mother never needed a change because she is a strong-headed, beautiful, and courageous woman who always knew how to deal with it. And like me, you must have got the stories hidden in your heart where you felt for a moment your mother deserved better than this or this could be done more for her. We are waiting to hear from you.
Share with us an article/story/poetry/haikus whatever brings solace to your mind and soul. And we will be happier to cherish them without any iota of doubt.
In addition to this, we would like to request you to add your full name as one of the tags in stories you publish with Dreams and Stories.
The reason is we are soon restarting a feature weekly column/space dedicated to our writers. This is meant to give them more exposure and viewership. This feature will help readers to find all of your stories under a single column.
We hope it helps you. You can find us on Twitter as “storyboxmedium”, Dreams and Stories on LinkedIn, and on YouTube as The Story Box
See you soon.
