Moondust

Katya saved her lover…

Katya had to save him, so she did the only thing she knew how to do. She took a handful of moondust and blew it on her lover. Costia shook for a moment and then slowly started to freeze in place. He was perfectly preserved until there came a time when he could be cured.

It was thousands of years later before archeologists finally found his statue in an unmarked tomb. A cure had been discovered for Costia. So, they sprinkled stardust upon him and he was instantly revived only to learn that his true love Katya was long gone.

This prompt A Drabble a Day 4: Rise of the Drabble is by Grim Flandango in The Fiction Writer’s Den. The word today is HANDFUL.

This 75th drabble is written as part of the “100 Story Challenge” by Zane Dickens the Instigator.
