Moon Knight is Now Proving Better Than Even Some of the Marvel Movies

Episode three: More gods equal more problems.

So just how many gods are there in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Who controls what? Who’s more powerful? Oh and by the way what Khonshu did is going to need some explaining.

Episode three Spoilers ahead!

It’s safe to say that anyone not watching Moon Knight on Disney+ is missing out. This show is only getting better. The long-form storytelling of the episodic streaming series allows us so much more time with characters than their film counterparts.

The quality of the Disney+ Marvel shows are going to push the films into a position to have to deliver something truly spectacular in order to stand out.

As for Moon Knight itself, the third episode of the season opens viewers up to more of Moon Knight’s world. More gods and more personalities. Let’s dig in.

The MCU brings in more gods

My first thought was of course, “What’s with all of these voyeur gods?”

Thor and his family. The Celestials and now these Egyptian gods. It would seem the Celestials are at the top of the food chain seeing as how they are the ones creating the universe. Who knows who falls in line after that. Maybe it’s Khonshu and his like with the power displayed in this week’s episode.

It was mind-bending watching Khonshu turn the night sky into what was seen the night the maps were made. Not only the visuals which were wonderfully done. I loved seeing regular people react to something so crazy happening.

Even though these people live in the MCU where this kind of stuff happens all the time seeing the night sky spinning out of control would be mind-melting.

How though?

This is where I hope there’s some explanation of how Khonshu can do this. Is he affecting time in some way? He surely couldn’t be actually moving stars and planets out in the galaxy and universe could he? As an MCU fan through and through I am open to accepting almost any explanation they give us.

As a prediction, the same gods who imprisoned Khonshu will probably serve justice to Arthur Harrow by the end of the season. I’m curious if they will empower Steven/Marc with Khonshu’s powers by the end or if he will always be tied to the will of his sponsor god.

Multiple Personalities

We’re at three personalities and counting. While I doubt it goes further than that it’s starting to get pretty crowded in the head of Steven Grant.

I must admit something though. Steven is getting annoying.

While his knowledge is helpful at times I would have lost what little control over the mind I’d had if I were Marc listening to Steven whine and complain.

Marc is in the middle of trying to track down Arthur Harrow before it’s too late and Steven is busy crying in every refection he can find.

Funny enough it looks like Marc isn’t even the one Steven should be worried about. The most vicious personality looks like he’s yet to be named. I can see a point coming where Steven and Marc are both in the passenger seat trapped in the mirror and will have to work together to get control back over their body.

I’m not the biggest fan of storylines where superheroes lose their powers. Actually, I’m not a fan of that plot at all really. However, It’s a very popular storyline and is used very often.

We’ll see where this one leads. Hopefully, it’s done interestingly and uniquely.

I’m excited to see more of the powers of these gods. Will any of the others display phenomenal abilities? Will we see much more of them? I hope so.

Now that Marc doesn’t have Khonshu’s power anymore he’s going to have to lean on Steven, isn’t he? I feel like Marc wants to roll his eyes every time he hears Steven’s voice. Wait, that might just be me.
