Momentous Verses
Verses that strike my heart…is yours one of them?
Do you write poetry? If so, I just might be intrigued, enamored, or in awe of your poetic words. This is one of them by Osan Fernando:
“There’s solitude in your aloneness There’s serenity in your silence”
The concept to highlight a few poets whose lines or verses strike me came to me recently, as I was stretching my tastes to read various genres of poetry. In reading poetry on Medium, I come across fabulous poems created by top writers, as well, as those written by lesser-known ones.
In either case, many times, I find one or two lines or a verse that is outstanding, moving, and inspirational regardless of its popularity and number of claps.
Animat writes about emotional pain she has endured comparing it to physical pain in a harrowing manner.
“what should be a gentle caress, feels like thorns grazing my skin.”
As a lover of writing and reading poetry, I wanted to highlight a few lines of poems that have recently left an impression in my mind worthy of sharing. Sometimes, I don’t want to forget the lovely words I read, so I bookmark them saving them to my reading list like this one by Adam Mohamoud:
“All I see is empty night
As if the sun and earth had a quarrel.”
“Momentous Verses” is a tribute to the noteworthy, creative and moving lines of poetry that have made an indelible impression on me.
This piece and format is, also, an easy way to support my fellow writers while connecting you to reading opportunities to enjoy their work.
I plan on continuing to write follow-up pieces on “Momentous Verses” as a periodic recurring theme or as a monthly challenge. Would you be interested in participating in a Monthly Challenge or Writing Prompt of this nature?
I hope it will be mutually beneficial to the writers I highlight in gaining support and readership, as well as, enjoyment and inspiration to the readers whose curiosity is roused with poetic artistry.
Shout out to Osan Fernando, Aminat, Adam Mohamoud!
