Mind Over Mood Book REVIEW — This Book Changed My Life

Practical, actionable life-changing tips from Christine Padesky and Dennis Greenberger.

I bought the Mind over Mood book because a friend of mine recommended it to me. I had gone through a period of deep depression and it really helped me. I have read many books that claim to help you change your life but Mind over mood: change how you feel by changing the way you think is one of my favorite books. The book was penned by Christine Padesky and Dennis Greenberger.

Mind over Mood, as I like to call it is the kind of book that if used properly can really change your life. If you don’t have the money to pay for a therapist this book can be your personal therapist. It uses cognitive therapy techniques and outlines them in a systematic format. Therefore, it is very easy to follow. You can use this book in two ways, as a standalone self-help book instead of therapy; alternatively, you could use it alongside therapy. Think of it as a supplement to your therapy sessions. If you do not take part in any kind of therapy this book will still be perfect for you.

This is the kind of book that is simple, yet very effective. I would strongly recommend Mind over Mood to anyone who has ever experienced depression, anyone who is currently experiencing depression, and to anyone who wants to change their thought patterns.

I must warn you though; mind over mood does encourage you to take a long hard look at yourself. It can be painful to look at yourself in the mirror and recognize your faults and problems.
