Milestone — 1k Followers
In just over eight weeks
On the 22nd of July, I joined the Medium platform after watching a Youtube video claiming I could get paid to write articles.
Now I have not had the best education, and I don’t feel as if I can read or write particularly well; however, money talks, and as a salesman, I thought I should give it a go. How hard can it be, right?
It initially turned out pretty bad. To say I flopped would be kind. My articles about hot tubs have very little interest and looking back at them, and I guess you would have to be a geek (which I am at times) to want to read them.
Along the way, I have virtually met some fantastic people. Take Kristina God, for example, who has inspired me to think outside the box with my writing. Reading her articles has helped me to become a more humble person, and I like the feeling of that.
She is an established writer who encourages growth as is always on hand for support when needed.
The next person that made an impact for me on Medium was Carrie. A. Kelly, who runs a few publications, will never forget when I submitted an article to The Publication Station; her response was pure gold.
In not so many words, Carrie. A. Kelly gave me “some feedback.”, basically, I like your content; however, your grammar is shit. On the other hand, I love her for being so direct with me in private, and it was the kick up the backside I needed.
We have since become good friends, and I appreciate her directness. I get a pat on the back for doing well and a clip round the ear if I am naughty!
One of the most caring people I have met has got to be Nikki. I know she has got my back 100%; the support she has shown me is second to none, and I know I can rely on her.
Trust is crucial, and I am sure many of you reading this have been affected by trust in the past. I have a close-knit of friends in my personal life who I trust unconditionally, and I am sure if we lived in the same country, Nikki would be part of my inner circle.
I am a firm believer in not forgetting where you have come from, so I want to mention a few people who, although I may not have heard from you recently, you will always have a place alongside me.
