Hi my friends, it’s another round of quick updates from Midjourney. Apologies for the delayed update today, as I am feeling a bit under the weather.
Be ready for some major upgrades coming to Midjourney! From long-awaited features like “Character Consistency” to a new “Color Reference”, “/describe” feature, and even potential partnerships with other AI leaders, there’s a lot to be excited about!

Midjourney V6 Beta Coming🔥
V6 Alpha is now the Default Model. And the team is wrapping things up before the transition to Beta with lots of new features coming! .
What to Expect in V6 Beta Upgrade
Key upgrades include significantly improved text rendering, coherency, and prompt accuracy. Creations will also feature more realistic details such as hands, along with improvements in:
- Better Text Generation with better texture
- Better Prompting and Coherence
- Aesthetic Improvement
- Optimizations for Improved Performance
- Faster Speed: Could get 2x faster with a turbo mode

A new /describe 🎨
The Midjourney team is working on an entirely brand-new /describe feature.
- It will be more powerful and accurate than before.
📅 Estimated Release: In 1–2 weeks
The
/describecommand is great at replicating an aesthetics of the image. I am sure the latest/describewill work great with “Style References” to replicate an art style
Character Consistency 🎨
The consistent character system is currently in development. It will:
- Function similarly to Style References with the
--crefargument - It enables users to modify colors and backgrounds while maintaining a consistent character.
Users may have the option to specify which elements of the image they want to maintain consistency, such as color, clothing, or facial features.

2. NEW Body Coherence 🎨
A feature for maintaining consistency of the body
New Style Tuner — Upcoming in V6.1 🚀
A rebuilt-style tuner is also nearing release. It is currently underway and will be a completely new style tuner compared to the previous version.
It will work like a “Model Tuner” and will enable
- Greater Customization over generated images.
- More Personalization
MidJourney V7 🚀
Development progress is already underway with a promise of substantial advancement comparable to previous version transitions
Planned Improvements for V7
- Improved pixel image quality and tiny details
- Increased coherence
- Advanced prompt understanding and details in images
- A cleaner system
- May include VIDEO in V7
Midjourney Website 💻
The team is developing new social features for the website, set to launch in the next week or so.
It will allow users to share and engage with Midjourney creations in new ways

Pan, Zoom, and Vary(Region) have been available for Niji 6 alpha since last week! I hope you all have fun playing around with the new aesthetics!
Besides, the webpage for Niji: https://nijijourney.com/ has been updated to match the current Midjourney website, providing a more seamless experience.
The updates include:
- Search functionality for all of your generations.
- Expanded options to filter images
- View options for a customized viewing experience.
- Create folders and smart folders for all your image organization needs.

1. Chinese Version of Midjourney 🇨🇳
There is a possibility of releasing a Chinese version, which would allow users to access the platform in China.
2. Potential Partnerships with AI Lab & API 👐🏻
In the coming six months, MidJourney is looking into potential collaborations with various significant AI labs.
It will be the first time MidJourney provides API access. Additionally, there is potential for collaborating with language models as well.
3. Potential Partnership with X (Twitter) 📣
Another breaking news going around is that Elon Musk has announced a potential partnership between Midjourney and X.
The image generator could be integrated into X’s Grok platform to enable AI-generated art.
In “ A Conversation with Elon Musk”, he mentioned that:
“We are in some interesting discussions with Midjourney and something may come of that, but either way, one way or another, we will enable AI art generation on the X platform.” — Elon Musk
If this is true, this is going to be a huge! If not, I am excited about seeing AI art generation on the platform!
