Microdosing Iboga — A Game Changer When It Comes To Implementing New Healthy Patterns

My Experience

Bwiti Shaman, created by author with hotpot.ai

I have been aware of Iboga since 2017 and began working with it in early 2018 by participating in an Iboga flood dosing ceremony led by highly qualified guides, following the tradition of the Bwiti. It was an incredible experience for my mind.

Our guides explained that alcohol disrupts the effects Iboga might have on our bodies. There’s a certain magic in this plant medicine that gets simply destroyed as soon as you drink even one glass of alcohol. I was happy to completely give up alcohol, and so I did. About six weeks after the flood dose, I started microdosing for the first time.

I initially used the standard microdosing protocol and later transitioned to intermittent microdosing years later. In case you’re unfamiliar with the standard method: On day 1, you take a microdose; day 2 is when you typically feel its effects the most, especially concerning mindset and pattern changes. Day 3 is an official break day, followed by another dose on day 4. Afterwards, there are two days off before resuming on day 7, and so on.

Standard Microdosing Protocol

  • day 1: Microdose
  • day 2–3: No microdose

Continue this cycle for 4–8 weeks, then take a break from microdosing for approximately 1–3 months.

The Right Amount of a Microdose?

Meditation & Microdosing

Young Woman Meditating, created by author with hotpot.ai

For me personally, having gone through a 500 RYT Training (Registered Yoga Teacher), microdosing and meditating go hand in hand or better said I wouldn’t stop meditating during microdosing phases. I am always amazed how much a tiny microdose can change when it comes to the quality of my meditation. I am super aware of all of my thoughts, especially when microdosing Iboga. But I am not simply aware of them, I can change them. For example. I start meditating but I drift off with my thoughts and think about my shopping list or whatever.

This can happen while meditating, even after years of meditation practice. Without a microdose the drifting off might take a minute but with microdosing Iboga I don’t even have time to finish the thought and immediately come back to the here and now, able to let go of everything and only focus on my breath.

Visualisations and Affirmations feel more powerful and especially on Iboga I feel more energetic and focused at the same time. No wonder why the Bwiti like to use it before they go hunt. Iboga gives me a very calm but alert state of mind. It is fascinating.

My Result After Years of Microdosing Iboga

Young Woman in front of Pyramids, created by author with hotpot.ai

I was able to change the deepest and most negative aspects entangled within my character. Iboga is not a magic bullet; I had to put in the work but it’s a great tool that can assist in becoming the better version of yourself that you’ve always aspired to be.

It’s not a sprint but a marathon. Changes won’t be immediately visible, and it took me years to reach where I am today.

I’m immensely grateful to have discovered Iboga. It worked wonders for me. I held a clear intention and never gave up; this journey was absolutely worthwhile. I understand that this kind of inner work is ongoing and has no end, but it’s the journey I’ve chosen, and I cherish every challenge and every little step of it.
