Metaphysical Metamorphosis Retreat

That was a mouthful for a self-improvement event.

Four years ago, I walked Route 66 — from Chicago to Santa Monica and blogged about it daily. Now, I am reflecting on the lessons learned along the way.

(Read from the start) The saga continues…

I had returned to Houston on October 7, for two reasons. First, I had a speaking engagement that was set up earlier. The second reason was to celebrate my son’s birthday on the 17th. However, a third event occurred while I was here, my MIL passed away, and my daughter and her mother had to fly to Canada to attend the funeral, and I had to play chauffeur to my son who doesn’t drive. He was starting a new job, so he chose to stay.

At first, I had thought about writing a recap of the daily activities in Houston, but I don’t have many notes about those days. So, I will return to the daily revisits of my trip in another ten days. Or maybe I will pop in once or twice between now and then to maintain continuity. It was a 17-day break, much longer than I had planned. But, such is life.

As I think back and ponder.

Metaphysical Morphosis Retreat was just that. A day of personal and spiritual growth. We had speeches, workshops, and hands-on physical therapy sessions, like massage and reiki.

I am currently dealing with some minor health issues that have required me to rest, and I have not done much writing. However, that is about to change. While I won’t be here writing about Walking Route 66, I will be posting some essays and poetry in various publications on Medium, so keep an eye out for those.
