Well, guess what? This location I’m about to unveil isn’t just for the nomads. It’s an idyllic haven for anyone in search of summer travel destinations, families embarking on exciting road trips, and solo adventurers seeking tranquility.

During my unforgettable summer road trip to Joshua Tree in sunny California, I stumbled upon a free parking RV campground called -

Morongo Casino Resort and Spa in Cabazon.

Thanks to the user-friendly iOverlander app, I discovered this hidden gem.

Though it’s roughly an hour away from Joshua Tree, trust me, it’s worth the journey. This RV campground exceeded all expectations, a prime location near the National Park, along with a plethora of amenities, entertainment options, and an acceptable dining experiences right on-site.

Picture waking up in the morning, strolling leisurely without peeking through windows or hastily departing because you are stealth camping.

It should be an unmissable stop on your itinerary as you will experience the epitome of van life and RV bliss in a serene and convenient location.

Here are 10 reasons to do so:

✅Easy registration process: Simply head over to the hotel valet booth and provide the attendant with the year, make, and model of your vehicle. In return, they will give you a sheet allowing you to stay for free. Registering for seven days makes the most sense, as you can either utilize the entire duration or leave early, knowing you won’t be able to come back until after 7 days.

✅No Judgment: Some RV camp parks don’t allow you to van camp in mini campervans.

✅Friendly staff: The staff members are incredibly welcoming and helpful. The valet explained the benefits of registering for a seven-day stay instead of a single day or any other duration. The reason behind this is that you can stay at the casino RV park for 7 days, after which you must leave for another 7 days. However, you can return and stay for another 7 days. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to split the days, such as staying for 3 days and returning in 3 days.

✅Safety: The casino RV park has security personnel who regularly patrol the area, creating a safe and secure environment.

✅Scenic landscape: The RV park is nestled amidst stunning mountains, offering breathtaking views. At night, a cool breeze sweeps through, making it a truly delightful experience when you open your windows. It’s the kind of weather you wish you could bottle up and take with you everywhere.

✅Convenience: The casino RV park is a haven for summer travelers, thanks to its convenient location. Within walking distance, you’ll find a travel center, gas station, convenience store, and even a mini-casino. Whether you need a quick snack, restroom break, or feel like trying your luck on the slots, you can find it all here. Additionally, if you’re up for a short stroll, you’ll discover a larger hotel, casino, and even a bowling alley.

✅Accessibility: Sometimes, you require a quick visit to a bustling town that offers a wide range of stores. Fear not, as the main town of is just a few minutes away. You can effortlessly zip in and out, taking care of your errands swiftly and efficiently before returning to the tranquil haven of the RV park.

✅Majestic night views: The nighttime views of the casino lights are a sight to behold and did I mention the breezes?

✅Ample open spaces: You won’t have to worry about feeling squeezed in, as you might have experienced elsewhere. Enjoy the freedom to stretch out and relish the freedom of space around you.

✅Quiet: If you want hustle bustle and noise, go inside the casino. Otherwise, stay in your vehicle for calmness and peace.

✅Clean: It was clean

Overall, Morongo Casino and Resort’s RV park provided me with the rest and excitement my soul needed.

While there is no such thing as a perfect camping spot (if there is, let me know), and I did encounter a few hiccups, such as the mid-morning heat until about 6 pm and a minor issue with the clerk in the travel center store over burnt popcorn.

However, the perks definitely outweigh the cons. From the easy registration process and friendly staff to the safety measures in place and the stunning surrounding landscape, this hidden gem offers everything you need for a delightful stay.
