Meet To The Brand New Kind Of Me
In response to the Yana Bostongirl’s prompt in collaboration with Donnette
When I read the post of my dear friend Donnette Anglin, it inspired me to share my new self. Do give her wonderful post a read.
So, here I am completely defining my new personality and I am in love with it.
The two years of my writing journey brought many changes to me. A person who didn’t have much interest in reading has already read more than 5 books in the last year from “Think and grow rich” to the “Law of attraction”. Reading books was a wonderful experience for me. My heartiest gratitude to Dr. Preeti Singh for inspiring me to read more. Not just that, I also started to read more articles on Medium and discovered some of the great writers and poets, some of them are Ankit Bhandari Dharan.M, you might be interested in reading their work.
Earlier, I was a soul who was affected by people’s words. Not anymore, you can’t burn me anymore.
A person who just was not ready to let go at any cost. The brand new kind of me doesn’t hold anything, it’s more of a free kind.
It took me a long time to understand that I don’t need to blame myself if someone behaves rudely to me, it might be their fault as well.
I don’t expect others to understand me anymore because I am busy finding my authentic self who deserve love and respect.
My new self isn’t the perfect one, but it’s the brave one who can accept and embrace all the imperfections and flaws. I embrace them because they make me who I am.
I have put all the weight aside that was not allowing me to breathe. Now, my heart is open to accepting all the love so I can finally breathe.
I am no longer a people pleaser who lives a life based on someone else’s opinions. I speak up when I see something wrong happening, I know how to raise my voice and make myself heard by others.
I don’t need anyone’s validation to love myself. The best thing I like about my new self is that I love myself more. My past self took life for granted because I wasn’t able to see the true beauty of life.
On the other side, my new self made a promise to myself that I will never take life for granted which made me a grateful person.
In changing myself, the past plays an important role. Some of the bad experiences of life taught me great life lessons. It is hard to forget the past. Past hurts, it still hurts. However, that doesn’t mean it defines me. There is no use in looking back, it will just hurt you some more. So, it’s better to look ahead and don’t allow your past to ruin the beautiful future that awaits you.
Change is always good because it’s the way of life. We all change, isn’t it? If you think, you want to change yourself for the better then you should change yourself because there are many things that you didn’t see, there are many experiences that you needed to experience so be brave to change yourself and reintroduce yourself to the world. You might be good today, but by changing yourself you can be great tomorrow.
“Don’t be afraid to give up the good to go for the great.”
-John D. Rockefeller
We as human beings, constantly talk about changing this and that surrounding us. But, we need to change ourselves first. God has set up everything in a perfect manner, it’s you who have the problem with it so go and change yourself.
It was a hard journey to bring all these life changes. However, change is never easy, but it is always worth changing yourself because there is the best version of yourself waiting for you.
This is a lifetime process. I am still learning so many things and trying to change myself for the better.
“Changing your mind is probably one of the most beautiful things people can do. And I’ve changed my mind about a lot of things over the years.”
-Paul Auster
