Meet My Bot
His name is Noone.

Well, now you’ve met my newest assistant. What do you think?
We All Use AI
As you can read, the difference is that my bot, Noone (pronounced no one) has very specific and intentional properties. He cannot assist me in my responsibilities as an author or writer on Medium or anywhere else that I write.
Noone can ensure that my home is at 72° on the coldest of mornings and a perfect 87° on the hottest of days. Excellent for Las Vegas Metro.
He also maintains my pool, controls its temperature, and warns me of any malfunction. While I’m at home or away, he also provides security 24/7, always on the lookout and ever vigilant.
Why Do I Need An AI Bot?
In point of fact, I didn’t know that I did. After doing some research, I found out Noone was already on the job in all facets of my life. At this point, if I try to disengage him, much of what I own or control will be damaged. Given the state of today’s technology, It may take a very long time to get my things up and running smoothly again.
What’s My Problem?
Thanks for asking. My problem is that I do not want him in certain areas of my life. My personal relationships, my reading, my writing, and most especially, ANYTHING to do with the relationship and love my wife and I have for one another. Those are absolutely out-of-bounds.
I especially don’t want him in my writing. I prefer to use what was given, earned, and experienced in my human intelligence. I want people to identify with what I’ve accomplished, experienced and learned over the past six and a half decades. I think I could be wrong; they want to know what I know and have learned.
Therefore, I won’t, will not, will not, and can not use AI in any writing I do. It must be from me. People want to hear from me.
People Want To Hear From You
For years, people have come to Medium to read original poems, stories, articles, opinion pieces, and even pages of your latest novel and jokes from you. From you.
Please Pledge
If you haven’t done so, please give your support for not using AI when you write. If you have already pledged, thank you.

Look no further if you’re looking for a reading list of people who DO NOT use AI in their writing. Here are two sources that are as current as we can make them. Victoria Kjos is maintaining a list, as am I.
Here’s her list:
Here’s the list I’m maintaining as a backup to hers. Please make sure your name is on one or both lists. If not, let us know in the comments, please.
If you want to catch up, here’s what’s being written about AI vs. HI:
If you have a story that’s not on this list, please pass me the link. [email protected].
Thanks for reading,
✍ — I would greatly appreciate your feedback. Thank you!
