Medium Partner Program Monthly Wrap Up — April 2022 (Month 2)

58 more stories written!

At first, I was only going to share my results for my first month in the Medium Partner Program, but I have now decided that I will share my first 6 months. I really enjoy reading about other people's experiences on Medium, so I feel that others will also appreciate me sharing my numbers.

While I didn’t quite reach my goal of doubling my first month's earnings, I got close, so I am happy. My growth has not been explosive, it has been slow and steady. But I have continued to make some great connections on the platform, and I am very grateful for my experience here so far.

This month I really enjoyed participating in many writing prompts. The ones that I regularly posted in were from A Taste For Life, Weeds & Wildflowers, and Six-Word Photo Story Challenge publications. Thank you to Jason Edmunds, Dennett and Mary Chang Story Writer for your work in creating these prompts. They are fun and inspiring!

Here are some of my favorite writing prompt posts:

This first one was selected by the Six-Word Photo Story Challenge editors as one of 21 featured selections out of 175 submissions. Thank you!

Posted in Weeds & Wildflowers:

These two were posted in A Taste Of Life publication:

I have continued keeping up with my Week In Photos posts that are also hosted by Dennett and her publication Weeds & Wildflowers. I post a one-week wrap-up every Wednesday. You can catch up on those by clicking below:

I am also excited to announce that I started my own publication in April! While I have added quite a few writers, I had just one actual submission from another writer. You can view my new publication “Share Your Creativity” by clicking the link below:

If you are interested in writing for the publication, please follow the guidelines that are outlined in the introduction article. I hope to see many more articles about creativity getting posted in the near future!

Okay, so here goes.

In April I wrote 58 articles, which was certainly ramped up from 40 in March. I earned $55.92, up from $30.08 last month. Like I said above, I had hoped to double my earnings, but c’est la vie! I am quite satisfied with this number and expect it to increase again next month.

I also gained almost 300 new subscribers, and my audience has now almost reached 700! I hope to cross 1k in May.

I had 10 792 views, 5481 reads, and 1358 fans. These numbers have mostly more than doubled since last month, with the exception of the fans which increased by about 90%.

Here are my top-earning stories in April:

It’s interesting to note that many of the top earners are ‘About Me’ posts or similar information posts that talk about my past life. I am also happy to see that people are reading about my new publication.

I hope the momentum keeps up and that really takes off next month!

I have really enjoyed my experience on Medium so far. Beyond the opportunity to make a bit of money, I have now gotten into an easy routine with my writing. Some days I have so many ideas about what to write that I feel like my brain may explode. But I take it one step at a time and write what I feel like, and it seems to be a little profitable, but most of all enjoyable.

I continue to read some amazing articles on here that inspire and uplift me! I had meant to keep a list of all the notable ones that I read in April, but unfortunately, that fell by the wayside a bit. I will try to do better in May.

Thanks for joining me on my second monthly summary of my experience in the Medium Partner Program.

Thank you to all of you for reading my work, commenting, and clapping! I am so grateful for this wonderful community.

Hope everyone has a great May!

xo Jill
