Whether we are directed by our guiding light or the lit path, we all have a path to follow. To some, it is more obvious, yet others suffer from indecision and constantly wonder which path to take.

This is a response to Weekend Writing Prompt #8 by Jason Edmunds in his publication A Taste For Life. My writing is in response to the photo above.

Some of us get off of our path, only to find our way back to it, many years later. Some know their path from day one, and would never dream of straying from it.

Some don’t follow their path because they fear the opinions of others. Some follow a path because others have told them that it is the right path to take.

Some of us don’t follow our path because we are scared. Others follow their path BECAUSE they are scared.

Some don’t follow their path because they feel that they don’t have the right opportunities in life. Others create opportunities for themselves so that they can then follow their path.

Some paths feel like a roller coaster ride. Other paths are smooth sailing.

Some paths may lead us astray, while others can lead us to our destiny.

How do we know what our path is?

This is one thing in life that nobody can tell us.

We must feel it with our own hearts, minds, and instincts.

We all have a path to follow, but it is up to each of us to find it, nurture it, and search it out. Sure, we will take wrong turns sometimes, but that is what life is all about.

We have to remember, though, that no matter how off of our path we get, we can always make decisions that will get us back on it again.
