Medium Has Changed
What is Coming Next? What might come next? What changes I wish

Medium is updating itself more frequently than people update their fashion, with every day bringing new algorithms that are resulting in a change in stats, new writers struggling to get views, and the experienced ones earning in thousands of USD.
As they say, the rich are getting richer, and the poor are getting poorer.
With this everyday change, it is becoming difficult for people to adapt, and this might result in a lot of people opting out of the microblogging platform.
We can only hope that the Medium team doesn’t make so frequent changes as it is disrupting the users’ overall experience on the platform.
But I am aware that we Own content and not the stakes in the company so it is completely their choice to make changes to it.
Currently, they have made many changes, and one of them is designing your profile page.

Recent Changes
I had earlier highlighted some of the changes that were made on the main page in my earlier post.
Below I am sharing some of the other changes that have taken place.
Logo
Medium has a new logo, I don’t know what is your take but as per me, such a great blogging platform could have hired a better logo designer because this one is looking horrible.
But the 3dotted logo is very useful in navigating from any Page/Profile to the main homepage.
2nd logo
If you have any logo for your blog posts or website, you can place on your profile page, it will be displayed either in the left or center.
Theme
The new Theme of the profile looks more promising, as it gives a bigger individuality to the writer, with the flexibility to place description in the header or sidebar.
Like the previous theme, this one also has a list of stories that can be scrolled, and you can place your best one on top with an option (pin story).

But the good part is that this one also has a small preview of the story, so if some description is worthy enough to build curiosity in you, then go ahead double click to read the entire article.
A new way of showing stories with some description is not welcome by poets as some of the poems are ending in the preview itself, resulting in a loss of ample member reading time.
Followers — Following
A lot of people judge someone by the number of his followers- following ratio, to remove this, Medium will now only show followers on the main profile page of a writer, it will show following only when you click on the about section.
Colors
Every Individual profile has got an option to change its color, writers are now utilizing their creativity in designing an attractive profile.

However, make sure the colors are not very bold, and they should not give eyes time to adjust as it might result in people moving out of your profile.
Eg- Base colors of Medium are White and Black, if you use a bold color like blood red, it will only disturb eyes.
Note- You can always reset to default if you have chosen the wrong color on medium.
URL
Medium has also given a Customized URL to every writer.
I wish Medium gets these as updates
As said above, the platform is updating very frequently, and below are some of the features I wish it could add to increase more readers.
A newsletter option for every writer
Imagine if you love the work of a writer and want to read more about it, how great it is when you are notified by mail about his new article. This will increase the chances of people getting a very loyal viewership.
When we follow some writers or Publications, mostly the frequency of sharing articles is so much that the better ones usually go un-noticed.
Member reading time
People put a lot of hard work, into writing, editing, taking images from stock photography websites, or trying to enter major publications by following their guidelines.
As a result to get some cents in return, so if Medium increases the amount of money for its writers, they will see a spike in the number of people on the platform.
What should never come
Below are some of the features that should never appear on Medium as they will reduce the interest of people working on this platform.
Chatbox
Imagine people chatting on Medium.
Can’t imagine right?
It is a feature they should never bring, as the entire experience will go haywire.
Medium and Quora are some of the platforms that are mainly used for knowledge sharing and it should be preserved.
Advertisements
The worst part is that they completely blow off a user experience, take Youtube, for example, the multiple ads featuring at the beginning of the video, or when you are watching some tutorial, suddenly popping up of an ad. shakes the concentration.
I wish that Medium should not use the Empty white space in placing advertisements, as they will ultimately slow the processing of this platform.
Conclusion
Most of the current changes are in the Beta stage so let us hope the best changes are implemented on the platform, so there can be an increase in the immense popularity of this platform.
