Marriage And Dowry
Is this acceptable?
In a world of love and unity, where hearts entwine, A sacred bond is formed, as stars above align. Two souls become one, destined to be, A union of love, forever and free.
In this journey of life, a vow is made, To walk hand in hand, come what may. For love knows no bounds, it’s a boundless sea, Together they sail, in harmony.
But in some lands, there’s an age-old tradition, A practice called dowry, causing much friction. Where gifts are exchanged, a price to pay, To marry a daughter, in a custom’s sway.
Yet let us ponder and reflect, On this age-old practice we must reject. For love should be pure, and hearts be true, Not bartered for wealth, this we eschew.
A woman’s worth is beyond compare, Her heart, her mind, her spirit rare. Not a commodity, not a prize, But a partner in love, with dreams to realize.
Let’s change the narrative, break the chain, For love and respect must always reign. Adopt equality, let’s stand tall, And celebrate love, breaking down each wall.
In marriage’s dance, let’s rewrite the tune, Where hearts and spirits in harmony croon. No dowry’s weight to pull them down, But love’s sweet melody, the only sound.
