Love Remains
An epigraphic poem inspired by Rumi

“Except for love, nothing you see will remain forever.” ~ Rumi
Motes of my being disappearing at the end May find you, Mote to mote, Seeking and finding As love survives and thrives In this mortal flesh now carrying us. When we take our final breath, Life, a series of electrons Energetically leave the bodies We have enjoyed. Tasting each other’s skin, Gazing into glistening eyes Moment upon moment Of being, seeing, freeing Us, continuing Into days and nights After our final breath.
With thanks to Paper Poetry for this prompt to get me back to writing poetry here.
