It took a long time for me to realize that I was in control of my life and with this revelation, I discovered that I have spent much of my life in search of something that I believed was missing — love.</p><p id="dad3">For the past few months in 2021, I have focused on love. I believe it to be the purest essence of our being. Love has taught me patience, it has taught me to be more understanding. Love has taught me to forgive, and it has taught me to let go of being so demanding. Love has taught me to accept those around me for being at their level of consciousness.</p><p id="2525">Love has reconnected my soul to nature and its beauty. Love has taught me to be kind to all those that I encounter daily. Love has taught me to smile more and to be grateful for all my blessings. Love has taught me to let go of my ego and listen to my heart. Love has taught me that it was present in my life from the very start. Love has taught me that there is always light even in the darkest spaces. Guest Prompt Week 3, Day 2: “If you’ve chosen to focus on a particular word for the year 2021, what are your experiences and insights from embodying and reflecting on this word for the past half year?”

I had an idea once to start a charity and call it Love Lifted Me Charities. I have since changed the name to something else that made more sense for the mission that I am trying to execute. But I wholeheartedly believe that love can lift anyone or anything out of despair. It lifted me out of some dark moments in my life. Hence the reason I wanted to share the message of the power of love to those who I would be helping.

When we become adults, we are expected to create our own paths. There is no written manuscript on how we should live our lives. Surely, we can mimic or get advice from others, or perhaps follow the cookie cutter blueprint created by society.
