Love Forever
When love grows old—a sonnet from my heart

“Except for Love, nothing you see will remain forever.” ~ Rumi
Love winked across a music room; blush red, A sigh hope-borne, moths drawn to flame, entwined. Passion and secrets shared, two hearts, one bed. Vows for-evermore, “I’ll be yours; you’ll be mine!”
Love grew throughout the years, shared joys, and woes — nurtured heart, nurtured soul, two hearts as one. Our castle built; the fledglings flown. Love flows and grows, with ev’ry morn, and sunset done.
It’s twilight time; love language subtle-change; A pat to hand, cheek brushed by lips, an arm round waist, support. “I’m right behind you, Raine!” His morning song brings toast with tea; love-balm.
Sun sets; night-calls; twinkle stars above. Swan sings — we leave our legacy of love.
