Love Blossoms On A Rainy Day But Life Is Long
Love is a long term relationship in life
Sweety in Delhi
A beautiful small-town girl Sweety leaves her comfortable parental home in Ludhiana in India to come to the capital city, New Delhi in search of a new life. Her parents were well off but she wanted to do something to make a life of her own.
Her parents lured her into teaching. They had contacts in a management college and through them, she was able to get an interns job.
She set up a one-room apartment that she took on rent. Her parents bought her a small car and she was ready to go in life.
She started teaching and studying. She was a trainee. She did not like her job. She wanted to be an assistant professor. Even though she did not like teaching she wanted to copy others.
She went to the director and took some sweets for him. He asked her what were they for? She said that it was a celebration at the home of her grandfather's birthday.
This was the beginning of their friendship. He got her enrolled in a Ph.D. program.
His whole family loved her and she became a regular visitor to their house. loved playing with his kids and got them goodies too. His wife too enjoyed the company of a youngster. They had fun times together.
Sweety is introduced to Manish
One fine day it was raining very heavily. She was standing on the terrace of her professors' house.
A young handsome man walked in completely drenched in the rain. He was the professor's nephew. He looked at her directly. “Hi who are you”? he said pleasantly.
“My name is Sweety,” she said, “I am enjoying the rain”. I had come to spend the day and study a bit for my Ph.D. with professor sir”, as she called him.
“You are fully drenched”, she made the obvious remark!
Manish freshened himself and was formally introduced to Sweety. He was tall, lanky, and good-looking. He had hero looks. She kept looking at him for a while and then became self-conscious and moved her gaze away.
As it happened his parents lived in a small town in Rajasthan. He was in Delhi for starting his first job and was staying in his uncle's house till he was a little settled.
Sweety and Manish soon became friendly. He was new to the town and she was also not from Delhi so they had fun looking for new places to hang around and have coffee or dinner together.
It was almost one year since they became friends. She was happy that she was seen with a good-looking guy. One evening Manish proposed to Sweety.
Sweety had just got over an affair with a guy from her town when she met Manish and had got enamored with him. She almost felt healed by now. Manish found Sweety extremely beautiful and everybody rolled their heads back to look at this wonderful couple together.
Introduction with parents.
Sweety asked Manish to meet her parents. He obliged and went to Ludhiana. He was on his best version. The parents liked him but found quite a lot of differences between their families.
Sweety said that she was ready to make the adjustments in life. Her parents were not too happy but permitted her to take her own decision pointing out the differences.
Sweety and her parents went to meet Manish’s parents. They were further disappointed to see their house and living standards. They told Sweety that it would be very difficult for her to adjust to them after having lived with a lot of comforts and a high standard that she was used to living.
Sweety Marries Manish
Sweety was adamant about marrying Manish. The parents had a big wedding arranged and she was ecstatic and pleased to start her new journey of life.
The couple flew for their honeymoon and on the first day, he shouted at her about money matters. She had spent too much, he said and she cried her heart out.
She came from a well-off family and he saved every pie that he earned. So where was the meeting point? Who was to blame that the fights began as soon as they got married.
Sweety becomes an earning member
Sweety completed her Ph.D. and took up a job. Professor sir of course helped her. She never complained about his nephew to him.
Every day was a burden to live within her limits and she started making herself uncomfortable trying to save, save and save.
Whatever she earned he took away and gave her only pocket money.
Soon she could not help it and started moving with her friends because she loved to go out. There was a lot of bickering about her going out and spending time and money with friends.
Ultimately Sweety decided to leave him.
Sweety left for her parental home and told her parents that she wanted to divorce her husband as there was no peace and calm at home.
The parents advised her to go back and adjust one more time before she made the final decision.
Sweety tried once more but her husband was an angry man and would throw things at her and shout and call her names.
She started calling him names too. In all this fighting and becoming calm again, leaving home and going back to him she became pregnant.
Sweety’s life after her son is born
Manish treated her like a queen during pregnancy. For nine months all was fine.
She gave birth to a baby boy at her parental place.
Her son is 5 years old now. They have high days and low days but they are not meant for each other. They fight and shout and he throws things at her and finally, he went into a depression. He was declared under severe clinical depression.
He is now a depressive at a young age. He is only 38 but in deep depression. He has no job. She earns too little to be able to stay on her own. She has no support. She lives with the fear of his anger. Her parents did not let her divorce him in time and now she is suffering every day of her life.
Sweety took the decision to marry but could not take the decision to leave at the right time. Decision-making should always be at the correct time or one has to suffer in life.
Who will help her? Her parents? Her inlaws or professor sir is yet to be seen. She has no answers.
Life is long! She still thinks of the rainy day when they met and love blossomed.
