Look At Me! I’m the Piano Teacher Now!

The fluffy life of Pushok — part I

For her fifth birthday, my daughter got a piano. She had some initiation during music classes at her preschool, and we wanted to support her nascent interest. The teacher sometimes gave her easy scores to practice at home. So, we sat together, and I helped.

That’s when I made a mistake.

I told her I was the home teacher and she was to have piano lessons with me. After a month, she explained that I should have piano lessons as well, and she will be the teacher. It wouldn’t be “fair” otherwise. Just like that, we had two piano lessons instead of one. My wife, always the clever one, managed to avoid them (maybe one day I will learn her secret).

Then we got Pushok, the cat.

My daughter was delighted to have a new student in her piano class. The previous one (that would be me) wasn’t as dedicated and focused as a teacher would hope. As it turned out, Pushok had no intention of being a student, his meowing made it quite clear.

If I understood correctly, it said something like, “Look at me! I’m the piano teacher now!”

Thanks to @pmansfield and his touching story for bringing me to Snapshots. Belly rubs to you, my friend!

That was the first installment in the fluffy life of Pushok!
