Welcome to The Lodestar Gazette, the perfect spot for every fiction fan! Whether you’re into stories or poems, this is your playground. Let’s keep it simple: a few ground rules to ensure everyone has a smashing time. There is no fuss, just fun and creativity. Let the storytelling begin! 🌟
As more and more writers joined, I wanted to open this up to all types of non-fiction, so we also accept humour, non-fiction works, and anything in between. We believe in inclusivity, all works of creativity, and letting creativity flow into the world's canals.
What we Accept
At the Lodestar Gazette, we’re all about spinning a good yarn. Whether it’s a short tale that makes you chuckle, a poem that rolls off the tongue, or any creative piece that won’t take more than a tea break to read, we’re open to all. Remember, it’s not just about the story; it’s about making it a fun ride!
Rules and Regulations:
First, keep things straight and simple, sticking to the medium rules. Medium Rules | by Medium | Medium Policy
We only accept drafts, which are valid for most publications. Also, all Submissions must have the following tags: Lodestar Gazette, then the type Fiction, Poetry, or Non—Fiction —depending on the submission.
- Please only submit one article per day. If you submit more than one, we reserve the right to keep it in the queue until the following day.
- Private notes must be kept open so we can communicate. Otherwise, we reserve the right to reject your article.
- Engage with the other writers in the publication (to support others and boost your readership).
- PROPERLY CAPITALIZE your title and add a subtitle.
- PROPERLY CREDIT the pictures you use in your articles (free stock website + photographer).
- ONLY USE IMAGES YOU HAVE THE LEGAL RIGHT TO USE. We reserve the right to verify the information you give us about the pics.
- Use proper grammar and send a coherent message through your article. ( Use Grammarly, which is Recommended)
- DO NOT PLAGIARIZE; we will remove you as a contributor and contact Medium staff.
- WE DO NOT ALLOW AI Writing ( AI Images are acceptable); it is up to the editor's discretion if they deem it AI-generated and reject it. Be mindful that those who submit AI-generated stories and poems will be kicked out of the Pub if they try to submit these posts repeatedly.
- Treat editors & fellow writers with respect. We are here to help you.
Monthly/ Weekly Segments:
🎯Creative Sparks — Monthly prompts for each day of the month.
🎯Starlight Prompts — Wednesday: Image Prompts
🎯Drabble Drops — Daily: One-word Prompt
🎯Sunday Shoutouts: Each member will get one story shouted out that editors have loved and want to share.
