š¢Like It or š„Hate It, Hereās Why I Was Right About Making $ on Medium
To Write or Not to Write (About Your Passion) - That is the Question

If you missed it, I wrote a controversial piece about what you should do to make money on Medium.
I was even accused of āselling outā (that kind of stings still) and had a myriad of people promising me to āfollow my passionā and the money would come. (Which of course I appreciate, I love me some positivity!)
But guess what? To date, that piece about making money on Medium is still my highest-earning story.

Need more proof?
On the leftā¬ ļø are a few of my stats from my passion articles, skincare. $0.01, $0.07, $0.03. Itās a little bit disheartening. Those articles take way more time, effort, and research.
On the rightā”ļø are my stats from stories that have to do with making money on Medium.

Sad, right? Or not, I donāt knowā¦
Money has always been and ALWAYS will be a deciding factor.
So the question is⦠Do you write about what youāre passionate about or do you write about what makes money?
Hereās more proof: One of my favorite Mediumhabitants Ryan Canady recently wrote this ā”ļø Hereās Why Your Personal Story Flopped on Medium
Ok, so we talked about dollars and cents.
Now letās talk about followers and subscribers.
First, take a look at the increase of followers I had in February. And get this, half of my subscribers came in February! (Thank you, awesome subscribers.ā¤ļø)

My followed are up +735 from last month! You see that in the other months, I never surpassed 200 new followers. Not even close to 700!

Ok, one more for the ditch. š
Tell me what you see in this screenshot. Of the money I made in February ($99.39), how much of it came from my passion articles
