Life Is Summed up in 6 W’s and 1 H

Life is a game we all are playing. It is not up to us. If it was, all of us would’ve quit years ago.

Life is fascinating. Everything about it is yearning for exploration.

There is so much we don’t know, so less that we do know, yet it seems a lot.

It all starts with a WOW

When a baby comes out of his mother’s womb, everything seems weird.

It is a new place for it but it seems perfect.

People stare down the baby’s eyes with awe and the baby stares back at the magnificence of the world, mesmerized.

The baby looks around with amazement. Everything is new and promising. He wants to explore more.

WHAT

This little guy wants more than just cookies. He wants to know what is around him.

He wants to understand the shed he is under. What makes sense to him, what doesn’t. Tell him everything!

What do people around him mean to him? What does he mean to them? What is everything about?

Filled with questions, he must know what is going on. If you don’t tell him, he’ll take it upon himself. He will believe anything that makes sense to him.

HOW

How do things work? How did everything come about? How does everything fall down?

Then he pushes a helium balloon and it rises. He looks at it shocked but excited. How?

He must refine his original theory.

Babies are scientists. The world is an arena of endless experiments waiting to happen.

He loves it.

As the baby becomes a bit mature, 9 or 10, he has more questions. This time, deeper ones but all revolving around how. How does everything work?

WHY

As he gathers more and more knowledge and wisdom through people and books, he wants to know why?

Why is he alive? Why is he where he is? Why is everything the way it is?

All of us have been through that train of thought. No one knows what the actual answer is. We come up with theories that make sense to us. Fair enough because maybe there is no wrong answer.

Maybe everything is subjective.

Curiousness keeps on building.

The purpose of life is to be happy

The purpose of life is to help others

The purpose of life is to create

The purpose of life is to learn

The purpose of life is to have fun

The purpose of life is to make a difference and do something worth remembering

A plethora of thoughts arise. Which does he stick to? It is totally up to him.

The thing is, however, that whatever he believes will not be changed easily. Massive events in his life dictate how he thinks about life.

No answer is the right one. It is all a matter of perspective.

This shapes how he looks at everything. What he takes seriously and what he chooses to ignore.

This is where most of the conflict occurs.

People that disagree with a certain perspective, like parents try to mend their ways.

May cause them to be rebellious. But one thing is certain. These perspectives are not changed easily.

Whatever you believe in, you protect it like a baby. When things out of your control occur, only they can change your perspective.

This is where people generally have the most fun. Life is explored consciously. Some important life lessons are handed and memories worth a lifetime are made.

WHEN

Next comes a matter of when. There you go trying to make your purpose a reality.

You work on it.

You know what life means to you. You now want to make that a reality.

Do you want to have fun? Maybe you want to earn money so you can go on vacations, parties, raves, concerts, what have you?

Whatever is fun, you want to be able to afford it.

Do you want to make a difference? Maybe you want to earn money so you can influence a wide variety of people. You want to do something to make a dent in reality.

You look for ways to influence people and do something massive.

Do you want to be happy? Maybe you want to earn money to settle with a family. Spend time with them and have everything revolve around that. Have kids one day and see them mature into something you are proud of.

You look for ways to find your ideal partner and live your dream life.

Everything revolves around money. What you dream of, the only obstacle is money. You look for ways to accumulate it.

You start working and ask yourself when it all will come to fruition. You put in hours trying to make your dream a reality.

Maybe you don’t get to WHEN part as quickly as most, maybe that is a good thing. You might be stuck in perspectives, trying to figure out what makes the most sense to you.

WHY

You try and try but it seems hard to get to where you want to. Your journey is riddled with failures and everyone tells you to be patient.

You again ask yourself why you are going through so much to get there.

Everything has to make sense to you again. You get mature, you ask fewer questions because you know more.

You lose friends and people close to you. You think you are doomed all over again. WHY ME?

You have to go through a whole rehabilitation again. You might make mistakes now but you definitely end up wiser than ever.

People with the same perspective as before tend to be the same as they were.

If you changed you think they are immature, but maybe they understood themselves better the first time around.

They make decisions you wouldn’t make, you judge them. They never went through your test. Why?

Why do things seem harder for you? Is it your goal? Is it you?

You have many questions you may never get the answers to.

You keep your head down and you work if you have zeroed in on a perspective. If you are in between them, you have to think clearly to yourselves and genuinely ask yourself,

What do you want?

Why must you want that?

The longest learning period of your life is concluded here. Your work starts to reap rewards.

WOW

Out of the vast majority, few reach it. If you don’t reach this point, you still don’t know your perspective, maybe there is a wrong answer.

You are amazed at what you accomplished. Was it luck? Are you an overnight success? It doesn’t matter.

What matters is you may cry tears of joy and jump with excitement.

Whether it is your 50s or 60s or 70s or 80s or 90s, you have this rush in your body.

Hard work truly did pay off.

Life truly is special.

What makes life amazing are the questions you ask, the things you learn, and how nature shapes you.

It is not the answer that enlightens but the questions

— Eugene Ionesco

A weird rule of life is,

Nothing makes sense until it does

Maybe everything is personal and subjective. Maybe there are some rules of success, maybe there aren’t. Who knows?

All I know is we all want to reach the WOW part, let's hope a lot of us do!
