POETRY ON MEDIUM

Life Is Shrapnel Always Firing

Ducking from each bullet

Situations cut my soul

Into pieces of burnt paper

That I stick back together

Every sunrise before I endure

More of the same difficulty,

Loss, change, and instability,

In the trenches of my suffering.

I wonder if I can continue,

Doing my best, keeping my smile alive,

Without viscous mud and scars covering it up,

Ploughing through the weeds, I use my all,

Trying to reach for that white light

At the end of the darkest and

Most suffocating mildew-covered tunnel.

Thank you for reading and supporting The Scriber’s Nook. We publish five days a week — Monday to Friday inclusively 🖋️🌟📚
