Letting Go Brings More

How to prune away the unnecessary in life

“Declutter your mind, your heart, your home. Let go of the heaviness that is weighing you down. Make your life simple, but significant.” ― Maria Defillo

Today’s abundance project work involved pruning away the unnecessary from my life. It is beautiful when we realize trimming away what we do not need will bring us more of our dreams.

It all started with noticing lots of tiny holes on the leaves of a dwarf ornamental cherry tree in our garden. Curious, I looked up what could be the problem. It turns out it is a fungus caused by lots of wet weather. The remedy involves pruning back the branches so the tree can have more airflow.

Isn’t that what we all need in life? More flow, fresh air to breathe, and room to grow.

Cutting away dead branches instantly changed the look of the tree. I feel it will now have a chance to thrive. We all deserve to live in harmony with the space around us.

I began to think about my choices in life. Recently, I decided to cancel my gym membership. I loved the gym, but trying to squeeze it in was restricting the flow of my day.

Letting go allowed me to rediscover doing a few minutes of yoga in the mornings upon waking and walking in the garden to relax in the afternoon. Today my exercise involved pruning this tree and cleaning up the branches.

In The Abundance Project, one of the seven gifts is giving away things or clearing out any clutter in your life.

This gift is about letting go of things you don’t need or use anymore in order to keep the energy- in the form of stuff — moving. Everything is energy, and everything in your environment is an expression of your energy. -Derek Rydell

I believe that clearing away things in your home as well as activities in your life leads to abundance.

My wish for you today is to look at where you can declutter your garden, life, and possessions. When you let go, you will unlock more of your pure potential to create. Feel the joy as you add more flow to your days.

Today I want to share a great piece by my friend Lucia Landini. She shares how to encourage someone who is down because of a recent failure. I love her message! Thank you, Lucia, for showing us how to reignite someone’s energy and our own!
