A-Z PHOTO CHALLENGE
Let’s Hear it For the N’s
From night, neon and naps, to neurons, needlework and noses

This adorable snowman was the answer I was looking for to tackle the letter N for JoAnn Ryan’s ongoing A-Z photography challenge. It was right under my nose the whole time!
N is for Noses.
While the snowman picture was captured today on my walk, my photo library revealed several other nose-themed pictures. This one was taken in Disney some years ago at the entrance of the Simpson’s ride.

My brother and I were on a call a while back when we both started messing with the filters on the phone. I’ve no clue how I did any of these, but they’re fun and appropriate for the theme.

N is for Nosey
We were staying in a motel in Paihia, New Zealand and the slanting roof attracted a handful of seagulls each day. They had to have been fed by previous visitors as they were persistent. This guy would even tap his nose on the window!
Nosey Parker, I say!

N is for Neurons
None of us could smell without the olfactory nerves sending and receiving signals to our brains. Indeed, all of our body functions depend on bundles of nerves that are made up of microscopic neurons.
To facilitate an understanding of disease processes, a basic knowledge of normal anatomy and physiology is imperative. When I teach the nervous system, I have the students make pipe-cleaner neurons to facilitate comprehension of their structure and function.
These are some of their creations!

N is for Neon
The only cruise that I’ve been on was from New York to the Bahamas and back in 2015 with my boys. The Norwegian Cruiseliner was an enormous floating hotel. The staircase near the casino housed this modern chandelier that bedazzled each night with its neon lighting.

N is for Nap
Oh to be a cat.
Booboo thinks I bought the bean bag for him.

N is for Needlework and New Zealand
A bonus being able to kill two birds with one stone! I stitched this years ago. Must get it into a frame…

N is for Night
Need I say more?
