Asking questions and seeking answers

QUESTIONS

[1] Does writing energize or exhaust you?

Oddly enough, at times it can do both. Most of the time, I get into a flow and the words come easily. This creates quite a buzz for me. However, sometimes the words get snagged and I have to pull and tug to free them. And sometimes I have to let them sit, stagnated in the pond. This can be so exhausting.

[2] What is one food that represents the country you are currently in?

Omgoodness I am in the United States and we aren’t called the great melting pot for no reason. We are divided up with many regions — Northeast, South, Midwest, Northwest and Southwest. And within those regions are sub-regions, and within each of these sub-regions, food varies from state to state, city to city, town to town. The cliché is hot dogs and apple pie and while this may have been true a century ago, it isn’t true anymore. We have food available from as many cultures as exist on the entire planet. I will say that apparently beef barbeque represents the area I live in currently, but I am a vegetarian, so I do not partake unless it’s grilled veggies and tofu. Hardcore bbqers would say that is not barbeque.

[3] What type of friend would you like to be?

Unfortunately, I do not do friendships well. Which is why I can count my closest friends on one hand. I am quiet. I don’t normally make the first move to contact because I don’t want to interrupt someone’s day. I will send DMs and emails to check on people, but I want call out of the blue. I am always there if someone reaches out in need though. I would like to be more interactive with my friends, but they are pretty much like me — introverts, empaths and HSPs — so they don’t mind the lack of activity.

[4] What have you given up on?

I’ve given up on having a romantic, intimate relationship. My spouse and I have an unusual marriage. We care for one another and our companions, but there is no longer any romance or intimacy between us. I am content with this because I no longer expect the alternative.

[5] What is one thing you’re committed to learning more about?

I am committed to learning how I can live upon this earth, in harmony with nature and leave as few footprints as possible.

  • Favourite stationery item? Pens, pens, pens — I collect fountain pens
