Let the Waters Under the Heaven Be Gathered Together Unto One Place, and Let the Dry Land Appear
Day three: A reexamination of the third of the seven days of creation
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. 11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 13 And the evening and the morning were the third day. (Gen 1:9–13 KJV)
Four Balls
Each day in sequence adds an additional ball to the structure. The last day had a structure of three balls. The form for today has four.

What Day Is Today?
Sunday saw the creation of light. Monday saw the creation of the Moon. That means today must be Tuesday.
Tuesday in French is Mardi. In Spanish, it is Martes. In Italian, Martedì. In other words, Tuesday is Mars day.

Mars Rules
Astrologically, Mars rules Aries and Scorpio.

According to my theory, the astrological signs associated with each day indicate the type of life that came into existence on that day.

The association of the scorpion with this day is clear as scorpions are the earliest dryland arthropods. Basically, this day saw the aquatic arthropods moving out of water and onto land.

Aries is a bit more difficult as there weren’t any rams on the earth at this point in time. However, we can infer from the fact that the period of Aries is from March 21 to April 19 that the sign represents early spring. The glyph resembles a new seedling as much as it does the horns of a ram.

Day One saw the birth of cyanobacteria.
Day Two was the day when aquatic arthropods came into existence.
Day Three was the day when the aquatic plant life of Day One together with the aquatic arthropods of Day Two were both raised to dryland where they evolved and adapted to the new environment.
Note that the Biblical account features the creation of plants, it fails to mention dryland arthropods.
I-Ching
We are now going to examine the verse for this day to see if we can identify any hexagrams. Those of you reading this should feel free to confirm my findings. An online version of the I-Ching can be found here.
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. (Gen 1:9 KJV)
First, we have water under heaven, or rather Heaven Over Water. Notice however that in order for the water to be gathered and for dry land to appear that the land must rise above the level of the water. This gives us Earth Over Water.
6. Sung / Conflict¹
above CH’IEN THE CREATIVE, HEAVEN below K’AN THE ABYSMAL, WATER
THE JUDGMENT
CONFLICT. You are sincere And are being obstructed. A cautious halt halfway brings good fortune. Going through to the end brings misfortune. It furthers one to see the great man. It does not further one to cross the great water.
THE IMAGE
Heaven and water go their opposite ways: The image of CONFLICT. Thus in all his transactions the superior man Carefully considers the beginning.
You may recall that this hexagram also came up for the previous day.
7. Shih / The Army²
above K’UN THE RECEPTIVE, EARTH below K’AN THE ABYSMAL, WATER
THE JUDGMENT
THE ARMY. The army needs perseverance And a strong man. Good fortune without blame.
THE IMAGE
In the middle of the earth is water: The image of THE ARMY. Thus the superior man increases his masses By generosity toward the people.
This is a very interesting coincidence. The hexagram named The Army just happens to come up on the day associated with Mars.
Also, take a look at the specific numbers of the hexagrams. Day One had hexagrams numbered 35 and 36. Day Two had hexagrams numbered 5 and 6. Now this day has hexagrams numbered 6 and 7.
For Days One and Two, the consecutive numbers can be explained by the use of hexagrams that flip polarities. For example, Water Over Heaven #5 followed by Heaven Over Water #6. However, Earth Over Water #7 breaks that pattern, yet still, the hexagrams fall in sequential order, which seems an unlikely coincidence.
Let us see if we can identify any other hexagrams for this day and if they too fall in sequential order.
10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. (Gen 1:10 KJV)
The verse above redefines Water as Seas, giving us Earth Over Lake #19.
11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. (Gen 1:11 KJV)
The verse above has a variety of plants growing on the earth, which gives us Wind-Wood Over Earth #20.
Once again we end up with two consecutive hexagrams, even though the terms used appear to be almost randomly assigned.
19. Lin / Approach³
above K’UN THE RECEPTIVE, EARTH below TUI THE JOYOUS, LAKE
THE JUDGMENT
APPROACH has supreme success. Perseverance furthers. When the eighth month comes, There will be misfortune.
THE IMAGE
The earth above the lake: The image of APPROACH. Thus the superior man is inexhaustible In his will to teach, And without limits In his tolerance and protection of the people.
20. Kuan / Contemplation (View)⁴
above SUN THE GENTLE, WIND below K’UN THE RECEPTIVE, EARTH
THE JUDGMENT
CONTEMPLATION. The ablution has been made, But not yet the offering. Full of trust they look up to him.
THE IMAGE
The wind blows over the earth: The image of CONTEMPLATION. Thus the kings of old visited the regions of the world, Contemplated the people, And gave them instruction.
Hexagrams #6 The Army and 7# Conflict seem to refer to the day itself, as it is the day of Mars.
Hexagram #29 Approach is likely associated with dryland arthropods, which includes insects. The idea of approach indicates movement.
Hexagram #30 Contemplation probably corresponds to dryland plants. A tall tree can be seen as contemplating the world around it.
