Let Memories Fly Free- With Photos!
Photos speak a thousand words.
Memories, ah, that wonderful gift Mother Nature has bestowed upon us. Alas, some are good, and some are not so good. But let’s focus on the good today.
While we may not want to preserve the bad ones, let’s ignite, make vivid, and take flight with those happy, joyful memories of wonderful past experiences and encounters.
Technology can bring memories to life.
With new technology comes issues, but also good innovations that are useful in many ways. With the new Amazon Echo Show, I am able to get pictures from my phone onto the Amazon Echo Show.
Memories of wonderful past experiences.

When on standby, these photos rotate, reminding me of holidays, birthdays, people, and places I have been to, seen, explored, and been captivated by.
Reignite those photos
Let’s indulge in the sights, sounds, and scents that accompanied those moments and let them transport us back in time.
The joy of looking at a simple photo and the emotions it brings back, can never be underestimated, no matter your age. We all like to look back at happy times. It brings a sense of being there and draws you closer to that memory; the pictures are like a secret tunnel to the past.
Memories fade. But pictures can resurface those paths that seemed almost untrodden.
Nan’s Hidden Nostalgia
So, I stumbled upon my nan’s hidden treasure chest of photos the other day — nostalgia in a box. I couldn’t bear the thought of those family photos being hidden away. I decided to set them FREE!
I spy those side-eye glances, Nan! I’ll handle the cleanup later, I swear. There’s no need to stress about the floor — it’s all under control!
I also put up pictures using magnetic clips. We bought Nan an Amazon Echo Show and loaded photos onto it for her! I decided to do the same at my mum’s house.
Alright, I’ve bombarded Nan and Mum with a thousand of my holiday selfies and me ice skating. But I did manage to sprinkle in ONE snapshot of my brothers. Keeping it fair, you know!
ONE snapshot of my brothers!

Seriously, they’re hooked! As I departed each house, they strolled, admiring the constellation of photos on the Echo and the ones on the wall.
Nan was beaming at Alexa’s proud display of one picture after another. I see happiness and the occasional eyebrow raise. The history once buried in dusty boxes or forgotten photo albums is now a lively reunion of people, experiences, and places!
There must be a way I can make it play music simultaneously (at the same time) as Amazon Echo rotates them. I will check that out.
Without history and our past, who are we? Photos bring memories closer to us.
You may like
But you do not have to use the Amazon Echo Show; You can hang pictures like I did or display them in various ways. Here are some ideas with links to an image:
- Use magnetic boards to display photos, similar to how you would on a fridge but on a board.
- Use a hanging branch to display photos. See a picture here.
- DIY picture mobiles or purchase one here.
- Photo clothesline.
- Use a metal grid to display photos.
- Use floating shelves to display your pictures.
- Use a box like a shadow box to display photos and memorable items from that time.

So take those photos out of the dusty box and display them proudly for all to see and to ignite the memories that you hold dear.
