Lesson 26: 4 Things I Learned After Writing Online for 365 Days
Mastery can’t be gifted.
Here’s everything I learned in last one year about writing online on various platforms.
I am a person who couldn’t decide what to eat for dinner, but somehow writing got stuck with me.
The purpose is to let you know what worked and what didn’t.
In case you missed last lesson in the side-hustle series, read here:
1. There is no short-cut
Am I a successful writer?
Probably not, but a passionate writer? Hell YES.
And success looks to everyone differently.
For me, sticking to something even when you don’t feel like doing it, makes all the difference.
So if you haven’t tasted success, don’t give up.
Keep going.
Success will eventually come to you.
There are no shortcuts to any place worth going. — Beverly Sills
2. Pivot whenever it’s necessary
There is no rule book or template.
Else you know, everyone would be successful.
Have you ever wondered why only 1% of people achieve massive success?
One reason is that they never follow the success rule book.
They broke barriers with an unconventional approach.
Don’t be afraid of trying new things in ways that have never done before.
Treat them as a series of experiments and you will never fail.
3. Learn by doing
‘What we have to learn, we learn by doing,’ said the Greek philosopher Aristotle
You can read books, and manuals, watch Ted Talks and listen to successful people all time.
But it will not do anything good unless you take action.
Action triumphs over everything.
And you will never know if you don’t do anything.
So instead of focusing on results, get up and just get your things done.
4. Ask better questions
I learned this from a colleague (whom I admire).
If you want better answers, start asking better questions.
Most of us don’t ask enough questions or ask basic questions that lead to template answers.
Indulge in meaningful conversation, and show that you care.
To get there: broaden your knowledge, listen often, and use positive verbs.
Lastly-
Be yourself.
Be you.
Writing on the internet is about depth and authenticity.
You’ll only get there only if you be yourself.
Life is too short to be someone else.
That’s all for today friends.
Have a lovely year ❤️
Be Bold
Be Courageous
Be Your Best
