Less of “More” & More of “Less”
A Free verse on a world back to the 80's
Waking up to a world back to the 80’s? A simple life — I must stress upon An era of less of “more” and more of “less”! When sharing, adjusting was ‘cool’; and personal space was the concept of fools! No airs, no fancies; Fewer of the high and mighties! Meaningful bonds over frivolous relations; Mindful conversations over instantaneous gratification; Lesser need of proving oneself, Rat race of rats trotting rather than racing, sweating to death! No social media traps to seek empty “likes”; Strolls in nature o’er Instagram, Trolls on people, an unknown concept! Tweets of birds and not of Twitter, A hearty laugh on real humor; Little more of Theater and soulful plays, Little less of mindless digital content; Roasting chicken and not the folks! Home-cooked meals o’er ready to eat, Broad toothy smiles o’er lustful pouts, Old school love o’er dating apps, Handwritten yellowing letters between pages of novels; Poems on paper with ink bottle and fountain pen, What a delight to read the poet’s hand-written curves of y and g! You and me together no matter what, with more of 'you' and less of 'me’.

Being born in 93, I’m exposed more to “today’s” world; I wrote this feeling what my parents always feel and say about the mechanization and the need for instant gratification in today’s youth.
