Learn to Connect With Huge Results
Find every opportunity to practice your writing
We all have heard Inch by inch life is a Cinch, Yard by Yard Life is Hard.
“If we stay focused on the small steps, directly in front of us (the inches), rather than the yards and yards that lay ahead, we will see many finish lines.” ~ Marjorie J McDonald
A Place to Start is Start Writing on the Internet
If you think that you want to write and do not know how to profit from your work, consider using the internet eBook format and publish your work online so your future reader can purchase and download your information.
Not only is this a great way to get your work out into the world, but publishers are watching online results and approaching authors to work with them to allow them to hard copy publish when they see your success. It can be a way to get the attention of both readers and publishers.
The trick, though, is that you have to get started with your writing and get it done. One of my friends uses getRdone as a reminder. We all have lots of reasons why that is just too much of time expenditure, and rolling that kind of a project into our already busy schedules can seem like it would overload us too much. If you think about it and chunk it down into small steps, it can go rather quickly.
One way to start is to set up a blog. Put your shortened chapter titles in as your categories, and as you write under those categories, you will be creating the content of your eBook over the new posts you will be adding over time. Move as fast or as slow as you would like so you do not feel pressured to produce. As you are moving in this direction, your ideas will seem more organized, and your confidence will increase.
This happens when you can track your traffic and see which category posts are getting the most reads from those who visit your blog.
Another way to organize your content is to write on a platform like Medium. You can track your stories to see which ones are getting the most engagement, claps, and highlights. Then collect those into your content for your eBook or create a published book.
Over a short period, you can allow yourself to fine-tune the content you want to include in your eBook or published book and the reality that it is possible for you will seem more reachable to you.
