Secrets Finally Exposed for Exploring Life Lessons

The Rare Opportunity of Looking Back

I have had the rare opportunity to look back at my life and see how the things that happened in my life brought me to now, just like going over a trip map. Would I have liked to have had an easier route to follow? Yes, we always think we should have had it more manageable.

I’m just grateful that I am still here, have the gifts and talents I have, and use the internet to continue to use them. How about you?

Several things regularly come up for me. I can choose to change them. What are your favorite go-to habits?

Mine is popcorn when I am stressed and want to keep myself from snapping at others. I can take my frustration out on the popcorn safely. So I watch how often I want popcorn. Now, I look carefully at the events right before I fixed myself that snack. It is such an easy catch for how I am feeling. Once the real issue comes up, I can decide if I can fix the real problem or if I’m going for the snack and then adjust the problem. I can assure you once I caught on to what was happening, I have saved on my snack budget.

Another favorite is scheduling too many things at once. If I am not able to get them all done, I have a built-in excuse — this one I have to be a bit more diligent to catch. When I am performing at a top-level, it is easy to get everything done. Unfortunately, I don’t do that every day and every hour in the day. I have to build a bit of wiggle room in the schedule, so things get finished in the manner I like. That has reduced a great deal of effort on my performance level to plan, schedule, and complete items. My outcome has been better work completed with no pressure or stress — a nice win.

I hope my observations have been able to nudge you to check your typical go-to habits.
